Polar Bear Diet and Behavior and the Impact of Declines in the Arctic Sea Ice

Polar bears live in remote areas. The Arctic sea ice is expected to continue declining with future climate change. These declines are likely to affect polar bears by reducing the time they can spend hunting seals. In this presentation, Dr. Pagano will describe research that measured the behavior, movement, diet, and energy costs of polar bears and describe how these data help us to understand how polar bears will be impacted by future declines in sea ice.
